SPRING TIDE FARMSTEAD

about us
Spring Tide started back in 2018 as a homestead and quickly evolved to a livestock farm where we raise pork and lamb. However, our primary focus is the pursuit of breeding the best piglets on the Blue Hill peninsula.
We have trialed a number of breeds over the years – from commercial to heritage – and landed on our absolute favorite: Gloucestershire Old Spots (GOS).
Glouchestershire Old Spots are a heritage breed known for their docility, intelligence, excellent maternal instincts, prolificacy and succulent meat quality. They are a critically endangered breed of livestock originally from Gloucestershire, England. Recognized as the oldest pedigree spotted pigs in the world, they were once popular for small family farms, where they were raised on dairy by-products and orchard fruits (hence the traditional name for them “Orchard Pig”).
